Compared with twill and unidirectional lines, the permeability of resin to plain weave is not as good as that of twill. The resin permeability of the two is similar, so the strength of the resin matrix is also similar. However, because of its many interwoven points, the plain weave material has high flexural strength, slightly higher tensile strength than twill weave, high balance, and no three-dimensional feeling like twill weave. This phenomenon becomes more obvious as the number of fabric layers increases.

Twill Weave

The twill weave is characterized by slashes composed of warp or weft points, so the nodes are less for plain weave, but the permeability of resin is indeed better than that of plain weave, so it will be found that in general, the plain weave of carbon fiber board The tensile strength of the type is higher than that of the twill, but the shear strength is often not as good as that of the twill, which is mainly due to the resin penetration. And because of the problem of resin penetration, when different molding processes are involved, there will be differences. For example, hot-pressed products use twill, and resin transfer molding products use twill, and the microscopic structure is also very different. He will have the above problems, penetration, pores, cracks, twill volume content, the macroscopic effect of the product quality is the fiber volume fraction, and the microscopic effect is the pores and cracks.
