Surface Treatment of CNC Aluminum Alloy Handplate

Surface Treatment of CNC Aluminum Alloy Handplate

Metal materials are used more and more in all kinds of existing products, because metal materials can better reflect product quality and highlight brand value. Among many metal materials, aluminum is the first to be used by various manufacturers because of its easy processing, good visual effect and rich means of surface treatment. It is mainly divided into: sandblasting (forming matte pearl silver surface), polishing (forming mirror surface), drawing (forming similar Satin effect), electroplating (covering a layer of other metals), spraying (covering other non-metallic coatings).

Now let's understand the surface processing technology of aluminium and aluminium alloys in our daily products.

Sandblasting

The process of cleaning and roughening metal surface by the impact of high-speed sand flow. The surface treatment of aluminium parts by this method can obtain a certain degree of cleanliness and different roughness, and improve the mechanical properties of the workpiece surface. Therefore, the fatigue resistance of the workpiece is improved, the adhesion between the workpiece and the coating is increased, the durability of the coating is prolonged, and it is also conducive to the leveling and decoration of the coating. . This process is often seen in Apple's products, and is increasingly used in existing TV shells or midframes.

The main function is surface cleaning. Front sandblasting can increase surface roughness and improve adhesion. Sandblasting can be divided into coarse sand and fine sand. There are 120 meshes and 100 meshes commonly used.

Wire drawing

Metal wire drawing is a process of repeatedly scraping aluminium sheet out of line with sandpaper. Drawing can be divided into straight wire drawing, screwed wire drawing, screwed wire drawing, screwed wire drawing. Metal wire drawing process can clearly show each fine trace, so that the metal matte gloss in the exudation of fine silk luster, products both fashionable and technological sense.

Polishing

By means of mechanical, chemical or electrochemical methods, the surface roughness of the workpiece is reduced to obtain a bright and flat surface processing method. Polishing technology is mainly divided into: mechanical polishing, chemical polishing, electrolytic polishing. Aluminum parts with mechanical polishing and electrolytic polishing can approach the mirror effect of stainless steel, giving people a sense of high-grade, simple, fashionable future.

High light cutting

The diamond knife is strengthened on the spindle of the high-speed rotary fine-engraving machine with a fine-engraving machine to cut the parts, and a local bright area is generated on the surface of the product. The brightness of cutting highlight is affected by the speed of the milling bit. The faster the bit speed is, the brighter the cutting highlight is. On the contrary, the darker the cutting highlight is and the easier the cutter grain is.

In recent years, high-light milling technology has been used in some metal frames of high-end TV sets. In addition, the anodic oxidation and wire drawing technology make TV sets full of fashion sense and sharp sense of science and technology.

Spraying: also known as electrostatic powder spraying, the advantages of this technology are embodied in advanced technology, energy-saving and efficient, safe and reliable, bright color and so on. Its working principle is that the plastic powder is charged by high voltage electrostatic equipment, under the action of electric field, the paint is sprayed on the surface of the workpiece, and the powder will be evenly adsorbed on the surface of the workpiece, forming a powder coating.

Electroplating: The workpiece is used as cathode, the material forming the coating is used as anode, both of them are placed in the bath with electroplating solution, and then the material forming the coating is ionized by direct current or alternating current, and runs from the electroplating solution to the workpiece surface, firmly attached to it to form different thickness coating.

Anodic oxidation

Anodic oxidation refers to the electrochemical oxidation of metals or alloys. Under the corresponding electrolyte and specific technological conditions, aluminum and its alloys form an oxide film on the aluminium products (anodes) due to the action of applied current. Anodic oxidation can not only solve the defects of surface hardness and wear resistance of aluminium, but also prolong the service life of aluminium and enhance its beauty. It has become an indispensable part of surface treatment of aluminium. It is the most widely used and very successful technology at present.

aluminum anodize

Aluminum alloys are mostly used for anodic oxidation (mostly natural color oxidation), spraying (rich color, cheap, most used), electrophoresis (mainly sparkling K gold, K silver, champagne color), heat transfer printing (mainly wood grain transfer, showing wood texture, good-looking).

Surface treatment of aluminium alloys is ultimately to enhance the surface hardness, wear resistance and other properties of aluminium alloys, expand its application scope and extend its service life. Surface treatment has become an indispensable part of the use of aluminium alloys, and anodizing is the most common application of aluminium alloy hand plates.
